Wir haben, genauso wie viele andere Hamburger, die Schnauze voll von einer Politik & Städteplanung, die dem Bürger vorschreibt, was öffentliches Interesse ist und was nicht. Es handelt sich nicht um pubertäres blauäugiges Dagegen-sein, sondern um eine sich schleichend ausbreitende Realität, die einige von uns täglich erleben und sehen.
Als kleine Unterstützung möchten wir den gesamten Erlös der T-Shirts dem Centro Sociale spenden:
Damit möglichst viel Kohle zusammen kommt, wäre es für uns toll, vorher eine grobe Idee zu haben, wieviele Shirts wohl umgesetzt werden an dem Abend. Bei 50 Stück reden wir von einem Einkaufspreis von ca. 8 Euro. Verkaufen würden wir das Shirt für 12 Euro. Klar sind 200 Euro Spende nicht die Welt - aber ein auf Spenden angewiesenes alternatives Projekt hat für diese Summe mit Sicherheit eine Verwendung. Vielleicht werden es ja auch mehr Shirts.

So, we're doing a trendy so-called "release show" for our brand new 7inch "Crossroads". Its going to happen at the Grosse Freiheit 36....ehmm....no, wait, actually its happening at infamous ONKEL OTTO, Bernhard-Nocht-Strasse, Hamburg St. Pauli. Date is saturday, march 7th.
Those of you familiar with this classical punk rock hangout know that it's not exactly a huge place. Now, once and for all: There will be NO presale, guestlist, whatsoever bullshit. So DON'T ASK. If you want to be part of our little celebration, make sure you'll be there early enough. you've been warned.
oh, by the way, also playing are TACKLEBERRY and THE GENTLE ART OF CHOKIN'.
p.s.: the actual, official pressing of our 7inch might not be available until this show (we're keeping our fingers crossed however). We decided to do the show anyway, because Arne is going on an extended holiday in the US a week later. Whatever...a party without the record is better than no party at all. However, the limited edition of the 7inch (you know which one we're talking about, rastas!!) is going to be available at the show. |

believe it or not, but we finally did some work on our homepage. the merch section is up to date now and we got some new hoodies in stock. otherwise, we'll take a break from playing shows for a couple of months. But that doesn't mean there's nothing going on at our camp: we'll have a new EP out sometime in winter/early spring so stay tuned. |

Last week, JWB guitarist & founding member Ole has decided to quit the band due to other priorities in his life. He's been with the band for almost 7 years. We're parting ways on good terms and thats all that matters. Padde (of INSTINCT OF SURVIVAL & DROWN IN BLOOD stenchcore fame) is going to take Ole's place from now on. It's a big change for us of course, but because Padde has been a part of JWB before (he played on our tour with DAY OF THE DEAD as well as our recent shows in June), it is a change made pretty easily. We're happy to welcome him and are looking forward to continue working on our new record that is going to be recorded in November.

We're back home. After 14 days, ca. 9000 km, 12 shows and one that did not last long enough for us to play, 4 nights spent on the road in the van, countless liters of kamillentee, kilogrammes of baguette and episodes of Seinfeld, the unearthly smell of the "complainer hose", a couple of nervous breakdowns and a lot of fun, we have come home savely and everybody's still alive + well. thanx to everybody we met, we had a great time. we hope to see all of you again soon.
but now that the euro tour is over, we are in no way getting lazy: more shows are coming up and the new record is finally available on CD/LP on these shows !!! we are playing two local shows next weekend:

Hi everyone,
like we did announce there will be no shows in the end of 2004 and in the beginning of 2005.
In february, we will enter the studio to record a full length album. In the meantime we are writing new songs, licking our wounds and begin to develop into a screamo-band. No big deal. We hope that you will like our new songs.
The split-7" with ENSIGN is not put on hold. ENSIGN had some troubles with mixing down their material - but hopefully I will receive their stuff within the next weeks. Right now I don't know how long it will take to do the artwork-shit, pressing, and so on. Just stay tuned and keep us in your hearts. Maybe you didn't know, so I tell you - there is only one thing that is true and honest and will always love you: your new favourite screamo-band JUST WENT BLACK!

We are back from three beautiful days in the sun at Fluff Fest. And what else
can you say: It has been a blast, of course! Everybody who was there will
agree that this Festival is something very special. We met so many old
friends and made new ones, had a good time watching all the bands and ate or
weight in vegan burgers. Thanks + love to Tomas, Timmi and everybody
involved in Fluff Fest and the nice 'warm up party' in Weimar!
 Some more good news, the split CD with SURF NAZIS and M.O.T.U. is finally
out now! This 33-song compilation CD features the complete discography
(well, until now in our case.) by all three bands: The 7 inches by JWB, SURF
NAZIS and M.O.T.U. plus the demotapes by both JWB and SURF NAZIS and even
one previously unreleased SURF NAZIS song. So you get value for money,
kids..don't miss it! You can get the CD directly from us, just drop us a

More shows to come..summertime - festival time! next weekend (august
6th/7th) we will be playing the Positive Power Festival in Eisenach and

...from another weekend on the road. The shows in Forst and Risa were a lot of fun, thanks & love to everyone involved, Frank, Rico and the crazy dutchmen from Maypole, and of course to our roadcrew Stefan and Kaupel! This time, Stefan drove us with his brand new second-hand van which made this weekend an incredibly comfortable experience compared to our normal "5 dudes + equipment all stuffed into a small car" situation.

AGE RECORDS family. JWB will hit the studio in March to record for a split

Unfortunately Paul has decided to leave the band due to personal reasons. We regret his decision but have decided to carry on with the band!
We already found a new member in Jens who is maybe known for playing guitar a while ago in a band called THE BLOOD IN MY TEARS. Things are going well and we're happy with our new member.
Another bad thing is that we had to cancel some gigs. We're sorry and want to apologize to the organizers about our short-dated cancelation. |

JUST WENT BLACK is back on track (2003-03-10 12:11:54) |
|
After playing our last show in early December 2002 we
decided to go on with this band last month.
Due to personal reasons and discrepancies within the
band it seemed to us as the best decision back in November 2002.
Our last show was a delightful event and it was feeling
very painful to call it quits. Maybe we didn't realize how
much the band meant to us.
Now - three months later - we have decided to revitalise
the band and to go on where we stopped. Everything remains
unaffected - there is only one change in our line-up. Dennis
is not longer playing drums - he is replaced by Thomas who
maybe is known for playing drums in such notorious bands
like LOXIRAN or CHISPA some years ago.
Right now we are working hard to acquire our old songs
and to overwork the new ones. There are plans for new
recordings and releases and also some show-dates for
May or maybe April are on our schedule.
So perhaps you
like to check our website www.justwentblack.com at regular
intervals to keep up-to-date about us.
We will appreciate

...no, not real news. Just wanted to tell you that there will be probably no live-shows in August! I will be on European Tour with DEATH OR GLORY and BLACK FRIDAY '29 and the others will go to holidays too or are concentrating on their studies.
We will hit the Studio in September and you can expect live-shows again!
Another sad news: Arne will leave the band due to the fact that he is also playing in two other bands and will begin to work this autumn. So perhaps you...aehmm...you know what I mean!?!? |
